Formed in September of 1996 High Society stormed onto the Dancehall scene with their versatility and unique flare which captured the hearts and minds of ravers around that time. They started off playing at house parties in Luton and soon moved into clubs and pubs playing alongside names such as Nasty Love, One Love and kissfm's David Rodigan. A big influence and mentor came in the form of then the No.1 sound Sovereign which featured Crucial Robbie. Progress was fast as they were soon hosting their own dances and events and had the privilege of being asked to host the birthday bash of Reggae artist Mr. Vegas which took place in St. Albans. High Socety moved on to organising comedy shows and regularly held dances in Luton, Bedford and Northampton. Their first residency came at Zeniths nightclub in Park Royal where they joined DJ's such as Rudy Ranks and Mr. Butch for their Tuesday student night which saw crowds of over 1000 ravers each week!
As an upcoming sound they worked with and alongside Dj's/sounds such as Tim Westwood, Rampage, Bass Odessey, Stone Love, Chris Goldfinger, the late DJ Village (R.I.P) just to name a few and with artists such as Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Luciano, Maxi Priest, Freddie Mc Gregor, Junior Kelly, Akon and Ja Rule.Having played up and down the country High Society have earned their place as one of the UK's top entertaining sound playing a versatile mixture of Dancehall/Bashment, RnB, Hip Hop and have been known to dabble in the Garage, Funky House and even Jungle element.High Society features 3 of the most hypest, talented and much loved and respected DJ's in the business between them having won 2 awards and been nominated in 2 categories at the London Community Radio Awards.
