a 'fast paced classic style of rock with punk/pop tendencies' – Anon ___________2003 was the year. Ish.The place might have been London. But it wasn't. It was Wotton-Under-Edge.5 young men chanced upon eachother. Okay, 3 young men. To be honest, it was only 1 young man. The other 2 were old enough to know better. There was no chance involved either.Having escaped the bleak North hearing tales of limitless cider and centuries of in-breeding, Andy ventured South and West until he landed in the fabled village of Wickwar, the spiritual home of boredom and the wax jacket. Realising that neither of Wickwar's 2 pubs would open in the daytime, Andy explored the surrounding area until he stumbled upon an oasis amid a desert of countryside. That oasis was Wotton-Under-Edge. At its centre stood the mighty Star, the kind of pub that Jesus will probably drink in once he gets over his little hissyfit and comes back.It was in this haven of beeriness that he began mixing with the locals (much against his better instincts) and, in particluar, the infamous Smithy Bros. Locally renowned for their crap dancing and laissez-faire attitude to clothing, Paul and Jam Smith befriended the strange northerner and soon talk turned to music. Before the night was over, a band was conceived. It was born a few weeks later. It weighed 7 and a half rock pounds and looked like Lemmy. The next couple of years are rarely talked about now and all i can say is that they involved a lot of singers, a broken neck and the mother of all anal prolapses. It was not until the year 2006 that our intrepid heroes found their frontman. And he came in the shape of Ian, best friend of The Paul (as he's now known), and unlikely pipesman (wahey!). Into 2007 and the line-up was completed with Lucy adding rhythm and organey goodness. With a full sound, a full band and a big tub of Olivio, they took their show on the road... soon the rural locales were afire with talk of the strange band confusing everyone. Some called them the 4 Horsemen of the Rockocalypse (or is that 5 Horsepeople?). Some called them benders. They called themselves Cohaagen. _____________________________ ..
