Splinta Youth Council is an initiative of the City Of Ballarat Youth Services. The Youth Council acts as an advocate for youth and makes sure that the voice of the youth in Ballarat gets out there and heard. We work closely with the Ballarat City Council and are constantly consulted on issues that affect us in the Ballarat community not only by the senior council but by other leading businesses and youth groups.
Each year, Splinta Youth Council go on a camp, to get to know each other and to start putting some ideas together for the year. Youth Councillors get to network with some of the more influential people in Ballarat such as the Mayor, Councillors and business people that are youth orientated.
In 2006, Youth Council has already had 2 massive events; the Youth Art Show & the Youth Recognition Awards. These two events were held during STUFFEST and were a huge success.
