Animal Farm

About Me

Until MySpace posts our music, download live MP3s here !ANIMAL FARM is an eclectic montage of musical styles that features some of Mississippi's finest instrumentalists. Blending elements of jazz, bluegrass, pop/rock, gospel and blues, the group's music is a sonic palette of virtuosity. Its members are drawn from diverse corners of the Jackson, Mississippi music scene; all are active in other groups as well. Animal Farm features harmonica player and vocalist Scott Albert Johnson (Scott Albert Johnson Band, Jesse Robinson, Dorothy Moore, Big Al & the Heavyweights, Sherman Lee Dillon, others), guitarist/vocalist Wayne Smith (the Rounders), 12-year-old cello prodigy Nat Smith (the Rounders, Mark O'Connor's fiddle celebration), mandolinist/guitarist Jamie Weems (Wooden Finger, the Broken String Band, others), and percussionist Jeremy Hurley (the Broken String Band). The group has headlined most of Jackson's live music venues, as well as special events like the Hearts Against AIDS benefit, Arts Eats and Beats, Bach to Blues, and the Fondren Summer Celebration.
