About Me

Gerald was born April 1965 in London and is the eldest of three boys.Brought up jointly by his Mum and Grandmother Gerald Attended the New Testament Church in Willesden North West London. He was brought up in the Pentecostal Church.Under the unbrella of the NTCoG Gerald developed a keen interest in playing drums. He would spend Sundays watching intently as the older boys play their instruments in true pentecostol fashion in the musicians corner. At the age of 13 Gerald picked up the sticks and taught himself at home to play the drums. when his mum was at work her prized bizzy Lizzy plants would lose their supporting bamboo sticks, the metal serving tray bacame a crash/ride cymbal, the biscuit tin became the snare, two ice cream tubs became the tom toms, the top of the hot chocolate tin became the hi hat. All of these were strategically placed on his mums leather arm chair. His Mum played drums pretty well too when she got hold of him.The TV would be switched to Top of the Pops. Gerald used the TV to watch every move the drummers made and copied them he also listened carefully to drummer like Sly and drummie and many others. he would rush home from church to listen to reggae time the Tony Williams show. those were the days (sigh).Gerald got the nickname 'ANIMAL' as he played the drums like the puppet from the muppet show. he is indeed a showman and will never change. He has a unique style and you know when he is on the kit.. he plays with passion and is the heartbeat of every song he plays.Gerald has played with great musicians such as Wayne Gordon Keyboardist now in Texas USA, The Esscoffery sisters, the Angelical Voice Choir, London Community Gospel Choir, Willesden New Testament Gospel Choir, Kensington temple Gospel Choir, Holloway Seventh Day Adventist Gospel Choir,Safari Steel Band, Vincent nat, Trevor Dixon (woman of moods)Nostagia Steel band, Phase 5 Steel Band and the Gangsters Ska reggae band.Gerald is well known and respected amongst musicians that know him. He has over the years given plenty of encouragement to up and coming musisians many of whome have become famous in their own right.Gerald is the type of drummer that people get hook on when they see him play people flock to see how he makes his snare sound the way it does.(its a secret)they want to learn from him He is truly blessed with his talent. Gifted by God.Gerald chose to follow his current career and plays drums now as a hobby and form of relaxation. He hopes you have enjoyed reading. more will be added later. stay blessed...
