HK starts to make noise in the Rap Kreyol Movement Haitian Killaz (HK) originally from South Florida has been around since October 2006. The initial group started by a group of Haitian friends who needed an outlet to voice their opinion and to also share their creativity and passion with the rest of the world; they decided to collaborate and join the Rap Kreyol movement. The group started with 3 members: Jr. Killa aka the Killaman, L.O.P. which means "Life Of Pain", and Pinky Gangsta. Each member came from a different neighborhood in Haiti where KHH was a passion and a hobby for the youths, and that in itself allowed the guys to bond and make good music for the people. After their first performance in Dec 2006, many thought the group would explode but because of financial difficulties and having had other priorities, things didn't go as plan. But after a meeting with Top Alderman, one of the best MCs in Haitian music history, HK became relevant again after doing a collabo with him. “Rep Where you’re from”. The track started making noise on the airwaves and soon after the boys released their carnival track.Having tasted some type of success, HK wanted to take things to the next level. They wanted to reach out to the folks back in the homeland, so they went to Haiti to check out the scene and get them notice. They hooked up with Barikad Crew and Jr. Killa collaborated with his cousin, Fantom of BC, and dropped the hit single, "SE SA LI YE". Many have said that HK is not only the most improved group from the Diaspora yet also the most active this year and they're hoping to use this to their advantage when they hit the stage at Shakaitutu's Unity is Power Benefit Concert later this year in Haiti. The group is expected to release their first album in the 1st quarter of 2009 and with the addition of the very talented Haitian American artist, Solja Ree, they're expecting to make great strides and claim '09 as their own.
