--------------------Born on the 25th of July 1985 in Hemet, California, as James Michael Martin Lafferty to parents Angie & Jeff Lafferty is now a common face on the WB's hit show, One Tree Hill. He has a brother, Stuart Lafferty who have also guest-starred as his good friend on the TV series. He grew up with a construction background as his parents owns a local construction business in Hemet. James attended the state's high school, Hemet High School where he played basketball for the team Bulldogs where he earned a MVP award. He has guest starred in a couple of television series like Boston Public & Emeril. He was obviously more known by fans as his role of Nathan Scott in One Tree Hill where he played Lucas Scott's (Chad Michael Murray) brother and the on/off husband of Haley James (Bethany Joy Lenz). Put apart his acting life, he claims that he enjoys walking with his dog, Nino, a husky mixed shepherd, taking walks and spending time with his family as he is a family guy. He currently lives in Wilmington, North Carolina which he claims is a good residential spot as the set and his home is probably closer than most places. He also has other hobbies like Taekwondo, boogie boarding, skateboarding, snorkeling, swimming, roller blading, basketball, football, horseback riding and playing video games. He also enjoys listening to , music from Eminem, Kanye West, Steve Miller Band, Gemini & Geto Boys. Other than that, he also gets hooked on television shows like The Sopranos, Friends, The Simpsons, Lost, South Park & The Daily Show while his favorite movies are Fight Club & Beautiful Girlswhich were released in 1999 & 1996 respectively. In his cast, he is known as the baby in the group as he is the youngest. He says that he looks up a lot to Paul Johansson and says that he is a talented actor. He also loves working with the rest of the cast especially Hilarie Burton as she is very professional. He hopes to be able to attend an international university and take up an acting course just to get a 'proper' degree when he has time. James is also hoping that he'll get more roles as he is looking forward to be the highlight of Hollywood for a period of time. Known for his modesty, he has helped a number of charities by playing basketball or soccer with hoes th gain money. If there was one thing he could do with One Tree Hill, he hopes that he'll get a complicated script as all he wants is challenges.
