Then, all of a sudden, you'd never guess what i saw on the wall. Another 'fuck you.'... that's the whole trouble. you can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. you may Think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write 'Fuck You' right under your nose.
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed

The Irish...
The utterly impractical, never predictable,
Sometimes irascible, quite inexplicable, Irish. Strange blend of shyness,

And stubborn refusal to bow in defeat.
He's spoiling and ready to argue and fight,
Yet the smile of a child
fills his soul with delight.
His eyes are the quickest to well up with tears,
Yet his strength is the strongest
to banish your fears.
His hate is as fierce as his devotion is grand,
And there is no middle ground
on which he will stand.
He's wild and he's gentle,
he's good and he's bad.
He's proud and he's humble,
he's happy and sad.
He's in love with the ocean,
the earth and the skies,
He's enamoured with beauty wherever it lies.
He's victor and victim, a star and a clod,
But mostly he's Irish
It is easy to be pleasant when life flows by like a song, but the man worth while is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong. For the test of the heart is trouble, and it always comes with years, and the smile that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through the tears

I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. Men all this stuff youv heard about America not wanting to fight wanting to stay out of the war is a lot of horse dump. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids you all admired the champion marble shooter the fastest runner the big league ball players the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldnt give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. Thats why Americans have never lost and will never lose a war because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans........Now theres another thing I want you to remember. I dont want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. We're advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.
