Get Your Own! | View SlideshowHya P, aka Parrot, was born in Jamaica and with the love for music and the natural ability to write lyrics he realized his aspiration to becoming a singer in his early childhood. He realised from an early age that for his singing career to elevate he would have to move to Kingston where there were a lot more opportunities for this to happen. Hya P soon realized the music business was not going to be easy so he quickly found other means to live, he decided to learn a trade which was tailoring. Going to as many dances as he could the young Hya P loved taking in the sounds of Volcano, Youthman Promotion with Tenor Saw and king Jammys with Nitty Gritty and watching artist like little John and Johnny Osborne voicing songs in the studio. Having been spotted singing in a party local promoter Dutch took Hya P to Penthouse Studios where he voiced his first song ‘Why Say Good Bye’. He was asked by a DJ called Dirty Harry to sing on a boat party with him, whilst he was visiting the Cayman Islands. This was the first time Hya P received benefit from his talent but still did not see the potential of a career in singing. Having spent some time travelling between Canada, U.S.A and the U.K, he decided to settle down and start to take his career seriously voicing a song for himself ‘God Almighty’ feat Baby Wayne; his career started to take off. Returning to Jamaica and voicing singles and collaborating with many artists such as General B, on the hit song ‘Love Da Vibe’, he also started producing other artists and riddims like the ‘Advanced Riddim’ feat Sizzla, Lukie D and more and the ‘Tenement Riddim’ with Jah Cure and Richie Spice and his own hit song ‘nah par wid dem’ feat Norrisman, and appearing on many stage shows in the UK with artists such as Beres Hammond, Half Pint, Lust, 5th Element, Monster Shock and more. Hya P is an artist with natural lyrical content and stage show presence, to entertain people all over the world………….. JAH BLESS.
