BIOGRAPHY
Born in Geneva in 1976, David Armada alias “Solo†comes originally from Spain. Passioned by electronic music, he bought his first turntables when he was 15 years old. Very quickly, he realized the lack of events in Geneva and decided to create his own parties.
In 1995, he created a company of event-driven called "Back To Track". He than mixed with the largest producers and House Dj’s of the planet : Tony Humphries, Gusto, Tommy Musto, Brian Tappert, Lil Louis, Stephane Pompougnac, Little Louis Vega, Van Helden, Mousse T, Sandy Rivera, Grant Nelson, David Guetta, Disciple, Boris Dlugosh, Kenny Dope Gonzales, John Marsh, Bob Sinclar, Freddy Turner, etc.
In 1996, he decided to launch is own musical production. He met Didier Hatt, producer and holder of a recording studio : Hi-Hatt Production. They created a first single which will be on the compilation of the Lake Parade (large parade of electronic music in Geneva which joins together more than 400' 000 people).
In 1998, he met DJ Mendo. They decided to mix together for "explosive" Sets which were immediately strongly apreciated by the public.
In the beginning of the year 1999, they opened a recording studio. Their first musical project under the pseudonym of Dollby caught the sudden interest of the Club Beat label. The first disc "I need your..." was launched in October 99, followed by the second, "The musik in me".
David and Mendo will then meet DJ George Morel, who will produce their title "Do it" on his label Groove One Records in Miami. Mid 2000, the Dollby-duet is dissolved but still collaborates on different singles.
David Armada then met Manolo Bermudez and Mickael Bardiot. They created together a group called Leman West. Two titles Electro Pop style, which comes out during the year 2001 and 2002. They will then get very famous and occur on prestigious scenes in Switzerland (Montreux Jazz Festival, Street Parade, Mainstation, Lake Parade...).
In the end of the year 2002, David Armada fell under the charm of a style a little more hypnotic and "dark" (réf. Danny Tenaglia, Creamer & Stephan K, Deep Dish, Peace Division, DJ Vibe). From then on, his time passed in studio or behind turntables will be devoted to this new style.
In 2005, one of his production comes out on the Portuguese label Magnetica (label from Magna records of DJ Carlos Manaça). This production was part of one of the compilation of the 5th year of the MAGNA Label.
In the same year David Armada mixed for the second time the Lake Parade compilation. It will reach the unanimity of the public and will be considered one of the best of all editions.
His last single with DJ Mendo has just been launched on the Swiss Label Clarisse Records. The title called “Desperate†received the support of artists recognized around the world such as Tedd Patterson, Tom Stephan, Kamisshake, Eric Entrena, Chab, Marcelo Castelli, That Kid’Chris…
Italy, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, England, in all Europe, his style, a little "dark", hypnotic and explosive seduces the public everytime he performs, due to his love and passion for music.
Listen to it, it’s adopting it.
