About Me

Classically trained to grade 8 (Royal Schools of Music) by 16 during which time I played in numerous large musical productions as the sole musician using just keyboards & computers.
A chance meeting saw me join a classic rock covers band in 1998 - 'Area 51'.. playing many gigs for 18 months before splitting after much blood, sweat, tears & toil!!
the bands 'the Fix' & 'Woodcutters Son' soon came and passed before i was asked to replace the keyboard player in a loud & hugely popular Caerphilly based band - 'the Futuristics'.
Several years later and after 1 too many arguments, the Futuristics morphed into 'Devious' (see general interests for link & full history) and still remain today as one of the most popular cover bands throughout the South Wales & South West music scene.
My keyboard style has changed greatly since I first started out with Area 51.. from using just 1 keyboard (an Alesis QS8) to the modern/advanced setup of rack mounted modules & synths/midi-controllers I currently use during the 2007 Devious show.
I have many influences (see music below) but my favourite band of all time has got to be Queen.. Jordan Rudess (keyboard player currently in Dream Theater) has got to be my biggest keyboard/synth influence. He shows that a keyboard can be an integral part of a rock band not just an 'add on' as seen in many bands.
Keyboard - Yamaha P90 (about to be made redundant..)
Synth - Alesis QS8.2
Midi Controller - Roland AX-7
Modules - Korg Triton (with MOSS, SCSI, Classic Boards) & Nord Electro rack 2
Monitors inlcude a Roland KC550 & KCW-1(modified)
