In 1992, P-27 released «Murder by Dialect» feat. Black Tiger on the Swiss compilation «Fresh Stuff 2», which made them the first band to put out a track with raps in Swiss-German. Thanks to a regular airplay on radio DRS 3, the sentence «y bin e Schpräyer, und y schpräy won y will» was copied and heard all over Switzerland. In the same year, P-27 released their first album «Overdose Funk» (Phonag) and the single «Summerzyyt». With their debut, they made it to place 8 in the Swiss-LP-Charts.Only two years later, P-27 released their 2nd album «Jetzt funkt's aa» (EMI), from which the singles «Run Baby Run!» and «Jetzt funkt's aa» were taken. With their particular mixture of rap, funk, jazz, rock and hip hop they set a new standard for Swiss rap crews.P-27 performed at various concerts and open air festivals in Switzerland as well as abroad. As support act of e.g. Guru (Gang Starr, NY), Urban Species (GB) IAM (F) and Sens Unik (CH), they heated up the crowd and proved their international quality. Reportages on P-27 were broadcast on SF DRS, VIVA SWISS, SAT1, PRO7 and others. In 1999, P-27 released their 3rd album „Dr einzig Wäg“ (MUVE) and the single «Ohre». At that time, the band consisted of the two MCs Skelt! and Tron, as well as the DJ Drozt, who, at concerts, was supported by Matthias Brodbeck (drums) and Michael Chylewski (bass).2007. With «Here We Go!» Skelt! (vocals) and Tron (vocals & scratches) open up their new EP «Pumpin’ Daze» and draw a bow over their 15-year-old band history back to where P-27 started. The musical parts of the CD were produced by Tron (Tron Moosix) and the vocals were added at the S.K.E.L.T.!-Studio. DJ Drozt (lukJLite / lukJLiteBookings) is featured on one of the new songs and will be in charge of administrative things and bookings for P-27. With their particular musical mixture, they are still able to irritate some ‘puritan’ rap-fans, while sticking to their band-slogan: FUN WITH MUSIC!!!
