Gordon Shumway

Miguel Enes was born in 1985 in the city of Oporto, Portugal.
Miguel had his first contact with electronic music at the age of 15 by his older brother. When they finally got some experience selecting music, they decided to start buying deejay equipment to create their own studio at home. Together, for two years they mixed and mixed until the techniques were perfected. Mostly with progressive / psychedelic trance.
In the middles of 2000, Miguel meets Manuel Faria, aka, DJ Jamesbong (at the moment label dj from Apocalypse Recs. Portugal) and together they practice djing at home and in some bars in Ribeira do Porto, a very traditional bar area in the city.
Later on, they start being invited to bigger, open air parties. From north, to south, Miguel plays as DJ Nävel. It’s then when his first music production project appears, Melmac - inspired on the TV Series: “Alf, the extraterrestrial”.
In 2002 he was invited to make part the of the administration of En Sof, a promotion/production group of national DJ’s and indoor parties, dedicating himself to the production and participation as DJ and live performer in a vast mix of styles of e-music parties, from chill-out, to breakbeat, passing through progressive house and trance, switching into to more psychedelic sounds.
Miguel, as dj, spreads his appetite for music to other styles, he now plays progressive/tribal house, with some break beats. Or, if in a trance party, his taste get goes more for the progressive/tech side of trance.
In 2005 he started working together as dj with Men@work. A party organization in the city of porto who worked with the biggest clubs, such as Hard Club, Swing Club, Porto Rio, among others.
At the moment, Miguel is producing music as Gordon Shumway, doing a wide variety of House/Minimal music styles and now belongs to the record label 24hours Records.
