About Me

-Drums and Percussion
-Vox
-Acoustic Guitar
Graces is a song inspired by a few of my peers. I was jammin one day and the melody a friend sang got stuck in my brain. Inspired by the great vocal hook I wrote a song around it. My first one all by myself. This is only the first of many to come.
Arizona Rain is a collaboration between me, Franny and my friend Craig. We recorded with 2 Audio Technica boundary mics and a Peavey pvm-38 vocal mic. I've been dabbling in guitar for about 7 yrs, drums for 20 yrs and singing all my life. TJ only recently talked me into seriously trying vocals out. Love ya Teej. I don't have any real cool drum tracks yet, I have been slacking off on the solo stuff these days, but I will update my music section again soon with some beats. I haven't had any formal schooling in music at all despite going to Canterbury in High school and once I started it was clear that I enjoyed it. My style on drums is a mix of metal, blues, and alternative and hip-hop. I play with a 10 tonne heart and sometimes the chops to match. Percussion to me, like most things musical, is a fundimental ingredient to my happiness, and venting my anger and passion and channeling it into something positive and specail has become the reward for my efforts to improve and mature. It is necessary for me to play to be happy and I will never stop again. I am a rythm oriented guitarist really only useful for playing bars and basic stuff so far. I love an acoustic jam. I'm currently involved in a project called "Junkie & the Spider". We are close to completing a new album and hope to hit the studio sometime this spring or summer. I believe in my partners in crime, Tj, Fran, Doug, Dave and I can guarentee we will be returning to the scene very soon. We continue to write at a furious pace and now have more than a full set of originals, and a few of our favorite covers have been relearned just for fun. In the past, I have played in other Ottawa bands such as "Emergency Broadcast System", and "Smokin' the Rent" but this new project , Junkie and the Spider, is very exciting, as we have been writing to compliment our natural strengths. We have played in the LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot and won the wildcard so far. Venues I have played include the LiVE Lounge, Capitol City Music Hall, Barrymore's Music Hall, The Rainbow Bistro, Trudeau Park, Andrew Hayden Park, Zaphods, The Brickstone and many others. Our domain junkieandthespider.com will be up and running soon.
