I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a child of God! I love serving in my branch of Zion, Allen Chapel AME Church. I am a newly confirmed Steward-in-training (like a Deacon in the Baptist church), participate in the Joy Choir, Women's Ministry, and the Single's Ministry; I am a Sunday school teacher, a vacation bible school teacher; and part of the Drama Ministry. I love attending bible study every Wednesday night. My Pastor encourages lots of questions and boy, do I ask a lot!
In October 2005 I spoke as a lay speaker during service and in January 2008 God used me again to bring His word at services. How incredible were these experiences!!!!! I was so filled with the Holy Spirit. I felt this awesome warmth in me and I kept asking people to touch me so that the could feel the presence of the Lord. I just love how the Lord is working with me and using me. I encourage you to give Him a try. Please pray for me as I wait for a word from Lord as to how He wants to use me.
I am a proud and active member of the greatest sorority in the world, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. What's up to all my sorors out there in cyberspace!!! OOOOOOOO-OOOOOOOP!!!!! Also, what's up to all the members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc,!!!!!!
I am also raising my 17 year old niece. Whew!! Keep those prayers coming!!!!! It is no joke raising a child in these days and times, especially with the internet. That's exactly why I have this page. I need to be aware of what's going on in her world. This profile was made at Whateverlife.com! :)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I wish that I could have met Rev. Richmond Kenner. Rev. Kenner was my great, great, great, great paternal grandfather born in the 1830's. He was freed by his father (his owner) and educated in a seminary in Atlanta. Grandpa Kenner started a church in the 1870's that still exists today in Ridge Springs, S.C., which I visited in July 2005 and I was able to see his grave.I also wish that I could have met Albert Battle. He was my great, great, great maternal grandfather. He was also freed by his father (his owner) due to his "fair complexion" (as stated in our family history). He passed on land to his children that is still in our family today. I used to spend summers in Nash, NC on that very land. His grave is there also.

I would like to meet Oleta Adams. She has such a sweet, sweet spirit and an incredible voice. I have seen her perform about 5 times now and I own all her cds.

If I could ever record an album (yes, I'm old school), I would like it to be produced by Tommy Sims. Hey, it's always good to have dreams!
