On February 27, 1992, at Binghamton University, three women shared their previous experiences with the Greek-letter-organizations. They realized their goals and beliefs were congruent and yet, the existing organizations were not in compliance with these. It was for this reason that our three founding mothers, researched and established Phi Theta Chi Sorority, Incorporated.
This social-cultural organization was created in order to foster eternal bonds of sisterhood, provide service to the community, celebrate womanhood, educate woman on issues effecting their gender, and lastly, to evaluate and identify the role of the Latino culture. Our focus on the Latino culture is comprised by the Tripod-the European, the African, and the Indigenous Cultures.
Phi Theta Chi Sorority, Incorporated will continue to expand each year not only in membership, but also in chapters. The scope of our activities will continue to influence the world of womanhood, by educating and providing service to the community.
