About Me

Graduate student at the Univeristy of Washington; should be studying right now! Grew up in Oregon City and graduated from SPU in 2002. Worked with internal refugees and the Wayuu tribe for 2 1/2 years in Colombia and then came back to the states for graduate school. Now I am burried up to my eyeballs in homework, patients, and thesis research, but having fun!Myspace For Girls Only - MyGirlySpace.com Guajira

My Interests

Traveling, meeting new people, places; working with underserved populations; working with youth; just joined Washington 1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team and I am psyched!

I'd like to meet:

All the people I really want to meet are all deceased, so not much point in mentioning them;-)

Music:

Little bit of everything. I like rock, R&B, country, salsa, pretty much anything, just depends on my mood and what I am doing. The only thing I am not really into is new rap.

Movies:

Love the movie Sahara; Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is a classic; and Wedding Crashers makes me laugh. Liked Crash and my favorite Disney cartoon is Tarzan.

Television:

Not hooked on any particular show; never home the same time every week! Although I just saw a commercial that Fisher Price made a MP3 player for toddlers and that just freaks me out.

Books:

Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera; Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (haven't seen the movie though);Edwidge Danticat's Breath, Eyes, Memory, and the first short story in Krik Krak...I think anyone before they argue about immigration laws should read that first. Kite Runner is also good. Just finished Mountains Beyond Mountains and it was absolutely refreshing! It was encouraging to encounter someone else who shares my heart's desires.

Heroes:

Agnes Bojaxhiu and Sao Pedro
