About Me
Emporium is a fancy name for the old-fashioned general store, the type of establishment which featured everything from straight pins to straight jackets and bumbershoots to lumberman's boots. There is nothing old-fashioned about the Music Emporium, however. Casey Cosby, Dave Padwin, Carolyn Lee, and Dora Wahl, individually, and their alter ego, the Music Emporium, collectively, comprise the freshest, musically provocative and inventive new sounds to hit the pop music scene since the Beatles.Like the Beatles, the Music Emporium write and arrange most of the material they perform. Emporium's leader, Casey Cosby (organ and vocal), though still in his early twenties, has performed in both the classical and jazz media from New Yorks Carnegie Hall to Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. His virtuoso performances won him the coveted Frank Sinatra Award Competition at UCLA in 1967.Dave Padwin (lead guitar, acoustic guitar, and vocal) came to the Music Emporium from Chicago, where he performed with several of the top-rated country-rock groups in the midwest. His imaginative improvisations stamp him as the newest "big daddy" of the guitar.Carolyn Lee (bass guitar, acoustic bass, piano, organ, and vocal) and Dora Wahl (drums and percussion) from the distaff side of the Music Emporium. Carolyn is studying for her Master's Degree in music at California State College at Long Beach. Dora, perhaps the most powerful feminine drummer ever to grace the music scene, provides the driving rhythmic beat which sparks the Music Emporium, whether the mood be haunting or spirited. So listen... once... then again. You're sure to agree... the Music Emporium is here to stay... at the top of the music firmament.
