About Me

"Wisdom is knowledge which has become a part of one's being…" - Orison Swett Marden

Yes, that is me in the picture jumping the Grand Canyon. No, I do not embark upon uncalculated leaps of faith. I am a Stuntman so I have an excuse. Hello, my name is Rick - I am self-educated, charismatic, balanced, intelligent, healthy, and a success at what I do. And... I can swim.
NOTE: This is "My Space" so I am allowed to say all that. And with that said, my self confidence based (WHO ARE YOU) information continues.
I don't fit into any typical stereotype and I find that most of my efforts are directed towards going against the grain. But this is what gives me my split personality and it is what you will like most about me, myself and I. I live in Europe and California but travel to Thailand, New Zealand, Mexico and Hawaii usually once a year.
I believe that a persons chosen path in life often (but not always) reflects their character and interests. My vocation does just that.
I am not the typical male model type you seem to find a lot of on My Space. Although I did help out Maxim Magazine (known for their witty comments and sexy female filled articles) with the odd but interesting www.endangeredman.com Web site.
Still, I can't just toss on a bikini and expect to keep napkins handy to wipe away all the drool. I actually have to work hard to be cool and even then I am still just luke warm. But anything close to being Luke Skywalker is cool with me. But I do appreciate all the sexy female posters (those that post) as I can't lie about what my eyes tell me is sweet. But I must add that too much sugar rots your teeth. So I prefer to stimulate the mind, but in order to blend in ever so slightly - here is a pic of me pretending (no pun intended) to be a model. This picture was not taken yesterday. I look much better in uniform.
I am into the martial arts (see video top left) or what I call the "Martial Science." Many of my Ninja students are on My Space too - if you find them, then tell them I said, "get back to training." The Martial Arts are only one aspect of my life. I also like to make salads and really bad film - see the videos below. But first, check out the CMS clip so you can see what I do for a living and get jazzed to come join me on an adventure.VIDEO LINKS:

TRAVEL - I also enjoy traveling. I love nature. Usually when I travel I try to make my trips focus on enjoying more of the world that hasn't been turned into a parking lot or shopping mall. However, I also love the city and have lived in Amsterdam, Los Angeles and San Francisco. I leave the country on average about 4 times a year with the occasional break where I forget what life is all about - then I travel again. My current focus is on Europe, Thailand, New Zealand, Mexico and Hawaii. My vocation allows me a lot of freedom to get out and see the world. I also love to travel in the States. I have driven across the US numerous times and I operate a 2 week Travel & Training tour through the southwest called U-CAN once a year. You can see other programs I run by visiting www.totalwarrior.com
As the founder of the "EASI-A" Memory System I also offer academic assistance for people who want the highest score possible on their test. My company is called "Tewtors" and you can learn more about getting an A on your next test by calling 1-866-RickTew (742-5839). Visit Tewtors.com
We also offer memory conversion coaching to companies that want to shorten the learning curve for employees and save some money on training.
PUBLIC SPEAKING - I often work as a management consultant / motivational speaker.
I offer lectures and seminars on my recent developments in human potential or what I like to call, "My Tew Sense." I am available for seminars and workshops on motivation, memory, management, the martial arts and self-defense.Info is at www.RickTew.com

I have a lot more hobbies and interests. If there is anything I can help you with in the area of movies, martial arts, self-help, computers, public speaking, Web design etc. - just ask.

My Interests

The above martial arts video is part 1 of 3. If you would like to see the other videos showcasing Rick Tew's system of Martial Science then click on the following link: Action Videos

To go along with my Split Personality I have a variety of interests. I will list some of the larger things that capture my attention and keep me active. Since I often teach the Martial Arts I will start there - watch the videos on this page to get a better idea of what I do and teach. You can also visit my Web site at: TotalWarrior.com

Outside of the Mixed Martial Arts arena I have a variety of interests that include: computers, rock climbing, video editing, gaming, reading, writing, travel etc. However those are activities and not the way I prefer to break down my interests. I am interested in doing things that I enjoy in order to make a living. My vocation being my vacation. I like to travel and I prefer to take a risk as opposed to the safe path toward success. I am interested in nature and activities that increase my time spent with nature. I am self-taught so I love learning and using that knowledge to produce a result. So anything that is about personal development or achievement is top of my list. I am interested in things that are positive and have outcomes that are positive. I am interested in a healthy life style that works on a continuos strategy to improve Mind, Body and Spirit.

I'd like to meet:

People that can form a sentence, like to travel, share ideas, inspire others to act and generally have a great attitude about life and living while trying to escape the conditioned constraints we have come to see as issues of security.

Music:

XM is mostly tuned to 47 or 48 for that Alternative background for the drive. 80's music seems to be popping back up and I am down with that. Classical music / Mozart (click the player below) is key listening. But I have cd's of (but not limited to):Cindy Alexander / Oingo Boingo / Bare Naked Ladies (sounds bad but they are positive) / Def Leopard / ZZ Top / did I mention Oingo Boingo? / Phil Collins (or better yet Genesis) / Okay I am just not going to continue this ridiculous concept sharing what cd's I have.

Movies:

Yadda, yadda, yadda I am interested in creations like Seinfeld (yes I know it is not a movie), Napoleon Dynamite, The Princess Bride, Love Actually, Cyrano (French version), Pirates, Underworld but easier to list actors than movies. So... anything that has Ben Stiller, Will Farell, Owen / Luke Wilson, Jackie Chan, Christopher Walkens, Jack Black, Kate Beckinsale, Adam Sandler, Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightley in it. Other films / shows that give us a sense of humor, adventure, hope, trust, love, understanding, acceptance, passion and more.

Television:

I don't watch much television, seems to be something I am more involved with a significant other. When I have watched TV I found that the following shows captured my interest: Seinfeld, Friends, The Factor, Bill Maher, HBO Deadwood, and for a phase I was all about X-Files. I do have all the DVD's of Southpark and contemplating getting the Chapelle show - it just borders on that part of me that feels it is funny but at the same time not exactly my character / cup of noodles. I usually watch programs that I have a current interest in - so if I am excited about Thailand then guess what? Biographies are at the top of my list for shows I enjoy watching. Next to that would be comedies and followed by educational programs. I can pretty much watch anything except for long hours of animation.

Books:

I don't think it much matters what books I read but it will matter to you if you read them. So take this list as a sort of must have for my personal growth and since they are universal you might find something for yourself in them. I have quite a few books so this is just a small list: As a man thinketh - by James Allen (carry it around with you as you travel), Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Dynamite (okay so it is by Napoleon Hill but you need to see the movie), a Patriots handbook, Atlas Shrugged (if you really like to read), Sein language, Being Happy, The Ph Miracle, Happiness is Free, and of course my words of wisdom like The Mind Martial Science.

Heroes:

Those who went or go against the grain. Not crooks, thieves (although two characters that I would consider models of life would be Robin Hood and The Saint), druggies, or those who choose that path simply because they lack the common sense or intelligence to stick to the task. People who quest for something more than just the typical layout that has been set down and the right thing to do. There are social laws and there are life laws. In the past you were burned at the stake for non conformance to social strategies. Now you can usually survive a change of voice - however it doesn't come without its share of challenges. Those that take the challenge and although fall from time to time they are on the path to do better, to improve lives and to respect that their time on Earth is short so they should live and not just be lived.
