About Me
Haven't really figured much out yet. Just lookin for a good time and some good people to spend that time with. I gotta a long way to go and Im not in any rush.Soooooooo, the last time i left off with my ongoing life saga i believe i was broken and mooching off the parents on Whidbey Island and planning to get the website for Nomad Leather up and running to start getting creativity and finances flowing simultaneously......well, the creativity flew but the website didn't. Once again we lost site and motivation for the web project and instead, opted to just keep makin lots of cuffs and belts and sell in the smaller, more personal word of mouth market with a couple festivals mixed in... With Nick, my brother and partner in "business" expecting a baby, it seemed natural to just stay natural and wait until we really had the time together to do the project...ie...its back on the back burner....again, damn.So while Nick and his beautiful wife Jen gave birth to a studly baby boy....i took my freshly healed leg back to Dutch Harbor Alaska for another run at the fast cash, no bills, secluded life of a Stevedore. It was time to stop eatin all my folks food and drinkin all theyre wine and start back on the warpath... I wasnt quite ready for the slave labor im used to up here so i took over the dispatch office for a couple months to let the "lifer" who usually does it take a vacation. My first office (paper pushing) job and i was scared....i have always feared anything sedentary, slow, indoors, stagnant, repetitive and refused to do it even for great money in the past, but, it was different this time, I was still nursing my freshly bionic left, lower leg and needed the flowage. Answering phones non-stop, calling supervisors who didnt even know that ive been working for them for two years, setting up all the jobs which meant calling every worker individually, listening to there excuses and trying to manipulate them into getting to the given location on time (its amazing, even up here where the pay is great and there is nothing else to do...people still need to be shoved out the door to go to work), making, processing, and faxing timesheets, excel spreadsheet weekly job logs ect., ect., Well it was a little much at first (even though it was the slowest time of the year) but soon became easy and yes...monotonous, routine, slow, mundane, ass breaking...as expected. It payed well though and allowed me to get back on my feet and now, two months later, im out of the office and back in the field. I have to be careful on my feet these days but damn it feels good to be back outside and not have the company phone glued to my hip 24 hrs a day. This new found freedom also allowed for the band to start practicing more often and Bunker Battallion is officially kicking ass again with lots of new material and a new guitarist, Joel, which pretty much completes the package until some virtuoso keyboard player comes along.....Brandon (drums), Dusty (bass), Phil (guitar), Joel (guitar), and lil ol me on vocals. Phil has been on vacation for a month and Brandon's been gone as well....so we three have been brewing up some dirty new tricks for them to rip on when they return.....once we get these new tracks fresh and clean we'll have more than enough material for an album and it will be time to lay it all down to be immortalized in all its glory. When that time comes ill be sure to get a music profile so whoever is interested can check it out.....organic, one of a kind, garage rock or..."bunker" rock, as we like to think of it.So thats that...thats where i am....the saga continues....ill be back down south in the spring...hopefully for good. Happy 2010 everybody....give em hell
