“Garage Night†has finally had its payoffs. The Men and Women of Bristol County Choppers are coming soon to a main road near you. Buddy, Jesse and Punkie Melberg along with a lot of hard work and support from Diane Melberg have turned a small dream and an after work hobby into a big dream reality.
The constant drive and hard work partnered with the evolving success of their ideas and custom bike builds have given this small family operated company a real big name in success.
After customizing a 1998 Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster, a 98 Sportster a 93 Sportster and a 2003 Road King, along with building 3 bikes from the frame up, 2 Paco Old School Choppers and a multi trophy winning, tribute to the Legendary Indian Larry custom soft tail chopper. Bristol County Choppers took on their most elaborate project ever. They created the most unique one of a kind custom builds yet and this is exactly what took BCC from just some garage in the back yard of their home in Taunton Ma., to a name that is known in the motorcycle community all over New England.
The FXZR, as it was so appropriately named, is a combination of parts from a 1987 Harley Davidson FXR and a 1994 FZR street bike. All the sheet metal was made by BCC and the outcome is truly a showstopper. The paint is different then anything out there now a days as well and for that and any other pinstriping and air brushing needs whether it be on the bikes themselves or for any promotional marketing signs, BCC has enlisted the extreme Talent of Russ Townsend of Townsend Graphics.
With all this talent and creativity there was only one true way to make it shine. Bristol County Choppers is opening a shop on a main road. They are located on Route 44 (485 Winthrop Street). Specializing in anything from repairs and maintenance to customizing or complete custom builds. If you need an inspection sticker, or you just want to stop in to buy a t-shirt or a helmet sticker they will have what you need.
Be sure to look out for the Grand opening bash that will be happening on August 19, 2007, though the shop will be open for business sooner than that date.
They are truly an example of a hard working business determined to make it happen. We were invited to the 1st annual
BIKER BUILD OFF in Laconia, NH this year where we finished 2nd, We had 36 hrs to build a bike that would start & drive. I think we did pretty good. It was our first build off.
