Greg Gaten Taylor is the owner of Walish Gooshe, a women's ready-to-wear clothing line, established in the spring of 2004. At the age of 19, designer Gregory Gaten Taylor was attending the Art Institute of Philadelphia. After several years of hard work researching, networking, freelancing, and designing, Taylor exhibited his first line in Philadelphia during the summer of 2007 to rave reviews. Walish Gooshe has been featured on the CW Philly network, Fox 5 news, PH magazine, Philadelphia Style magazine on the trends watch (April 2008 issue), and much more.
A Washington DC native, Mr. Taylor always wanted to be a fashion designer. Although he enrolled at the Art Institute as a fashion marketing major, he so enjoyed the sewing classes he took to perfect his craftsmanship, that he decided to switch gears and dedicate himself to becoming a quality fashion designer. Greg Taylor dressed many celebrities such as Laila Ali, Sheinelle Jones, Angela Russell, and many more.
Inspired by his mother's and immediate family's personal style – Taylor describes it as "classy and sophisticated" - his first line showed in July 2007 at the German Society of Philadelphia. His line featured reversible shift dresses with conservative prints and a blue theme. There was a great critical response, leaving people amazed by the talent of such a young man.
