StreetStudioProject.Org was created to empower the lives disadvantaged children through education, mentoring and scholarships in the medium of photography and with photographic portrait installations in the cities in which we work. The installations are lasting memorials to the enduring love and passion of human beings, which will touch, move and inspire people for generations to come; expressing that even with our differences, we share a common bond.
Imagine 10,000 - 30,000 photographic portraits of the citizens and visitors of the cities we are working in, permanently glazed (kiln fired) onto structural or glass tiles (8x8 or 8x16 inches) and used to create enormous photographic installations (walls) in subway stations and public spaces in cities around the world. These installations are the vehicles by which we will facilitate our greater goals of making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and their communities. The children will be educated and mentored in the field of photography by StreetStudioProject.Org and by both amateur and professional photographers. Each child will be matched with photographers who will commit to playing an active and extended mentoring roll in the children's lives. StreetStudioProject.Org will also establish a scholarship fund for the children with which they will be able to continue fostering their dreams through higher education.
The best part is, the children themselves will take the portraits selected for the installations, contributing their talents and vision to the world, gaining a sense of pride and confidence that they can carry with them into their adult lives.

If you would like to get involved as a volunteer and/or mentor, email me and I will put you on the list. Due to the response level, I will not answer emails inquiring about how to have your portrait taken and included in the Project. Instead I will refer you to the shoot times and locations calendar page for more information on when and where to come. All are welcome to participate!
