"There was once a young girl. She was young at heart, an innocent and rather naïve individual whose knowledge of the outside world extended upon the physical realms of reality; a dreamer. She was the one who looked beyond the normality and stereotypical life society created. Independent in her own right yet socially intact, she was different from most. Yet with this unique quality in time came the adversity of segregation from the 'clique', the power of popularity swamping her along with her beliefs, ambitions and values. Distanced from who she used to be by the emotional barrier of status, the girl became a woman so narcissistic that the ideals of her past were blurred with every magazine that shaped the world she saw today. Her physical frame depleting as she transformed into the made-up, stick-like models that parade a girls mind like an alternative conscience found in the transition towards adolescence. Another victim of peer pressure. Another female who inevitably will never see an increasing number on the bathroom scales, pimples upon her face or an imperfection of the slightest nature without the same intense anxiety again."
I'll never have friends like the ones i did in primary school, when the only things that really mattered were who was 'it' for chasey at lunchtime, and who was going to be holding your hand during chain tiggy. Friends during childhood arent driven by any alternative of status or gain, merely the innocence of being with people you really like.
