Born and raised in Las Vegas, and while lots of people seem to love this town, I lack the enthusiasm that most non-native born people seem to possess. The 24 hour convenience is nice, but the weather, tourism, and god-awful traffic is not. Of course, it's practically cliche' to dislike your home town until you finally depart from it, so until I'm out of here I'll try to refrain from complaining too much.
At present I'm attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a biology major. This course of study absorbs approximately 90% of my free time during the semester, and I tend to spend the other 10% drinking, watching DVD's, and hanging out with my amazing girlfriend. After undergrad I plan on going to graduate school to pursue a career in neuroscience.
I believe life is too short to not have fun and take risks. That said, if there's one thing I can't stand, it's people that take themselves too seriously. One of the greatest skills a person can learn is the ability to laugh at everything and everyone, themself included. Go out, meet new people, and try new things- life is all about new experiences.
