Movies:
My favorite movie is Pay It Forward. Because that's my life motto! and Crash because it basically sums up my whole view on racism. I hate it, and I will do whatever it takes to make it go away. Waking Life, Darkcity, Sleeper, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Walk The Line, Fried Green Tomatoes, Benny and June (filmed in the neighborhood where I grew up, and I was an extra in it too), Men Cry Bullets, Gia, Apollo 13, Monster, Bound, Slam, Broke Back Mountain. The Contender, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Television:
Star Trek, Xena, I love Lucy, American Bandstand, Da Ali G Show, South Park, C.S.I., Law and Order, So You Think You Can Dance, The Tom Green Show, Stuff on CMT, and BET, Big Brother and Amazing Race.
Books:
Autobiographies, like Melissa Etheridge's "My life in love and music."
"I know why the caged bird sings" by Maya Angelou. I also like to read about history, specfically womens history. I absolutely love to read books that stand up comedians wrote, with all their acts and stuff in it. Laughter is a key role in my choice to read something. I also read The Eugene Weekly, weekly, and I read the news paper sometimes. I never touch magazines anymore, because they make me sick. Except Billboard, and Guitar magazines. I drool over a nice curvey ovation. Honestly though, I rarely ready, but I should though. Books seem like an awesome thing.
Heroes:
Buddha, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Bob Marley, Laura Kemp, Melissa Etheridge, Sarah Jones, Michael Franti/Spearhead, The entire city of Eugene.
My friends. My family. Especially my mother, father and my grandmother. Music in general. The good positive and real stuff. I am my own hero. But at the same time I do not believe in heroism, I think that to be a hero is to do something spectacular, whereas in general humanity is spectacular. All the human beings that have touched me, are my hero. As you can see I am rather confused about who or what my hero is. But anyone who can dream, and persue it and fulfill it, they are my hero. You are my hero. Who knows.
