Silent Resolve

About Me

The story of Silent Resolve begins in 2001 with the inception of the band Inchagrin. Formed by Neal Warner and Matt Lutz, they set out to rule the world or otherwise rock it. But as will happen in Rock and Roll, after years of grind Neal and Matt were back at square one. Jump to 2006, Matt now living in Hellam, frequented the Tourist Inn where another young guitarist, Brandon Schlosser, was playing every-other Tuesday at their TI Tuesday Night acoustic shows. Impressed with his talent, Matt asked if he’d like to jam. And so with that jam session Silent Resolve was born. Six months later another graduate of T.I. Tuesdays, Justin Black, joined and Silent Resolve was complete. Since then, they have shared the stage with countless amazing bands. Most notably, a recent opening spot on the main stage at Crocodile Rock for the infamous Misfits. That night they had a pit that rivaled The Misfits own. And the next morning a flood of friend requests on Myspace.
Neal, the drummer, has a life long love affair with the drums and picked it up at 16. His biggest influences are AFI, Boy Sets Fire, Hot Water Music, and At The Drive-In. But his biggest influence is the local music, watching people do what he loves, getting fans off on original music. He has 2 wonderful children and a loving wife, Steph.
Matt (Ratt), bassist, can credit his intense energy and stage presence to seeing local acts Sixsouth, Sadaharu, One Perfect Crime, and Clancy 6, growing up in York. His influences are deeply rooted in the early 90’s grunge sound. This can be heard on tracks like Stars and Crosses, and Orphan Hit. But he sums it up best saying; “We work hard, and put a lot of time and effort into keeping this machine running. The best way to experience Silent Resolve is to come out and see us live.”
The origins of Dank (Brandon) remains quite a mystery. His legend has been passed down through folklore from various cultures of the world. Discovered in a corner of a dank bar in York, PA(some think this is how his alias was derived) playing an acoustic guitar and singing songs with a reckless abandon for structures and set lyrics. He digs his style out of such artists as John Fruciante, Clutch, Jimi Hendrix, the Roots, and Frank Zappa. Dank describes his band as “An interesting blend of hard fast rock and funk and blues all intertwined in the loose shapings of the classic silent resolve sound.”
Justin has been seen playing guitar and singing at every corner of the globe his feet could touch. Playing everywhere from the London tubes, to the mountain peeks of Santa Fe, NM and every bit of land and sea in-between. He’s deeply influenced by the roots of music and every bit of the music tree. He has a love for the pioneers that were bold enough to go against the music quo and follows in their footsteps with every breath he takes.
An eclectic mix by some accounts and brilliant by most. Silent Resolve takes pride in the diversity they have and thrive off of it. They’re paving new musical paths in every direction; wanna come along for the ride?
we are silent resolve...we are music...there is no gimmic...it is about the music...it is about the love/hate that we all go through...it is about having fun and letting go of all the bullshit...we are silent resolve
