BIODoes anyone truly know the meaning of a true star? The answer is no, If you never seen or heard of Mr. Premiere La’Monce. Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Model. Premiere is not yet what he should be, but surly on his way! The secret of joy in work is contained in one word- excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it! Mr. La’ Monce enjoys what he does and is a role model to his community. He is truly paving his road to stardom with gold to a future brighter than the sun. Through all his ups and down’s Premiere is truly a survivor. The pains, the happiness, the tears, mistakes and down falls birth a True Star!
On a cold morning of October 20, 1987 Premiere La’Monce was born by the name of Shawn Vasquez Jr, to Donetta Dozier and Shawn Vasquez Sr. From thereon Premiere grew into a young man who was dangerously in love with music. Premiere had a very close relationship with his grandmother, who passed when he was only seven years old. This was a very dark and lonely time for Premiere, who soon turned to music as therapy. As Premiere grew into himself he joined his church choir where God led him to discover a voice that changed his life! Premiere also got courage to join his school choir, when he was in the second grade. Being in his school choir, Premiere scored to be a hit with his peers, who feel in love with his talents performed on stage. During this time Premiere’s choir instructor formed a singing group, outside the school choir, where Premiere was given the titled as lead singer. The group would soon split up due to Premiere relocating to another school. Premiere was a star wherever he went! He had the walk, the talk, and the attitude of a super star! Premiere reunited with one of his former band mates from Elementary. They formed an R&B singing group titled, Confess. Confess was said to be the new break out thing in R&B music, when everything changed for the worst. Premiere was singled out to being the “STAR†of the R&B singing group Confess. Premiere was than betrayed by his best friend and band mate. This was a rough time for Premiere, trying to find his voice was a struggle to be strong. For awhile Premiere went into a shell, where he let himself go and his dreams were numb. When Premiere thought he could fall no deeper, his Idol, Beyonce Knowles of (Destiny’s Child) wrote a song that changed Premiere’s life. This song was titled SURVIVOR! Survivor put Premiere’s heart back at home with music.
Throughout Premiere’s life he was faced with a lot of things, which he only came out of, through the grace of God. He was a very lost and lonely child growing up without a father or father figure. That being so, took a lot out of him growing up as a young man. Premiere never had any kind of relationship with his father; which tore him deeply in pieces, as he got older. All throughout Premiere’s life he has been described as always being “Hated on.†Growing up where he lived, dreams just didn’t exist. Not in Premiere’s mind, he always dreamed of being a star! Premiere always believed, to accomplish great, we must not only act, but also do, not only plan, but also believe. The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dream shall never die.
On October 5, 2006, Premiere audition for American Idol, A popular TV showcase on FOX. Premiere describe this day as being one of the best days of his life. Premiere audition with more than 7,000 people all in the hope to be the next American Idol. Out of 7,000 people, Premiere made it to the top 75 where he was interviewed and picked to be one of the show’s special stories. Reality hit when Premiere came to the third audition with the three judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. The pressure was on and Premiere lost it all in one note that got him sent home. This was nearly a tragedy seeing his dreams go down the drain on national television. Premiere came to realize that this is only a stepping stone to get closer to his dreams.
Premiere believes he has the ability to do anything with God on his right hand side. Regular people see things, and say, why? But Premiere dreams things that never were and say “Why not? It doesn’t take 20/20 vision to see that Premiere is on his way to being one of the future Premieres, It doesn’t take a genius to see that this young man has a glow only few people have and everybody wishes for. He is a star that’s going to shine bright on everybody’s lives with his soul and voice, that makes non-believers believe and haters love. There is something truly powerful and different about Premiere that many people love and very few hate. He has what it takes; he has what the world needs. He is phenomenal, magnificent, and powerful in his craft. He’s Premiere La’Monce a TRUE STAR!
