Rockin Rose & the Rhythm Boys

About Me

This is the story of Rockin Rose and The Ryhym Boys .It started about 3 years ago. Rose Marston ( a.k.a. Rockin' Rose) had been a a big supporter and friend of the Rockabilly scene for many years in both So. Cal and in Orlando FL. Born and raised in Los Angeles and living there most of her life, she picked up and moved to Florida for a little change of pace. While out there, she was a part of a Folk-Rock trio called "Christill" and 2 accapella groups :"The Hollywood High-Tones"(Do-Wop),and "The Caroling Co."(Dickens-style Christmas Caroling). Once she moved back to L.A, she was eager to get back on track with her Original music.Almost immediately, she joined up and had a brief stint with an L.A. Blues band. When that ended, she attended a special Rockabilly event, saw female artist that she was TRULY INSPIRED BY- and decided "Ah, yes, THIS is what I should be doing".And so the quest began. The challenge was to write 10 songs in the Rockabilly-esque genre. Once accomplished, she set out to find her" Rhythm Boys". Being a part of a Songwrirters workshop in both Orlando and then back in L.A., Rose found her first "band member" who was also a co-writer of a few of her songs. His name was Jon Batson(an accomplished TALENTED Singer/Songwriter/ Author in his own rite). Soon they played together in local showcases as a duo . Shortly after, Chris Clark ( a.k.a. "C3") joined them on the Upright. Then a trio was born. A couple of drummers came and went, but it wasn't until Christian Kessler agreed to Produce (and play Upright on) the Demo in Dec. of 2004, that she would be introduced to the next and current newest members- Robert Garcia on Drums, and Rockin' Ramiro ( a.k.a. Red" and sometimes known as "Gingy") who would complete the current line up. The demo was released in Feb. of 2005, and soon after they began lining up shows. Mixing complementary styles such as Rockabilly, Surf, Blues, Torch/Jazz, and Swing they had a "unique" sound that Rockabilly audiences hadn't heard before. Sometimes upbeat and energetic , sometimes dark and moody. This was one "unique" musical concoction that audiences( men and women alike) ATE up! Rose has an energy that mixes Burlesque, with the High energy of a Go -Go dancer( and her moves reflect this onstage) . To change this blend up even more , they added a bit more early 60's Garage and Funk feel. Hence the slogan "Rockabilly- and MORE!!! " was born.
