Art Reflecting Life........Life Reflecting Art

About Me

Like life, hip hop is more than money, cash, and hoes. Without attempting to sound overly anything, Phase 1, presents the glossy, golden age sounding rap album, "The 2nd Revolution." With a balanced drive for positivity without preaching, Phase 1 sparks thought from the college minded experience. The lyrics are real. The story telling is official. Tracks detail moments of clarity, social commentary, and a "fight the power" presence expertly mixed with a laid back groove. In the rare essence of hip hop Phase 1 is live, an underground reflecting a Chuck D message on a Wes Montgomery soundscape.Phase 1 moves the crowd with cross-country appeal. The diverse group formed in the fall of 2000 while members attended Hampton University in Virginia. Producer/Emcee Dane "Kameleon" Norton (San Diego, CA) layers a life of jazz: Joni Mitchell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sting, and Stan Getz, with live instrumentation to the music's feel. Emcee/Producer Patrick "Sin" Rajasingam (Pasadena, CA) is influenced by hip hop's newer and foreign offshoots; trip hop, downbeat, and electronica, broadens the scope of Phase 1. Poet/Emcee Josiah "Zion" (Cleveland, OH) brings a strong spoken-word poetry voice that swells to an aggressive swagger on the mic. Also adding flavor is precise DJ scratching by members of their collective and independent label Soul Students Records... Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own!
