fractals

Fractals is a band created by Panos Scourtis, guitarist of the well known Greek alternative band Sigmatropic. Together with schoolmate Chris Panagis (drums), they started the band as a project writing music they would like to listen to , but couldnt find anywhere. It was a quest! Later on they decided that what they wrote could as well be performed live! As a result a four piece band was created by the addition of Panos' brother John(bass), and good friend Andrew Tsiroulis (keyboards).
The core of the group is the same ever since (2005) with Panos on Vocals. For 2 years they gradually invaded and dominated the Athens rock scene with a 4 hour cover/originals set , transforming places that up to that point used to play only low quality greek/turkish s**t, and making them dedicate at least one night a week to rock shows , giving the example to a whole entertainment district. Venues worth noticing are : Architektoniki Live Music Club, Enzzo diCuba, Club 22, Underworld, After Dark, Mike's Irish Bar, and many more.
On Fall of 2007, fractals introduced a new line up with the addition of Yannis Tsiroulis (gtr) , Andrew's brother, as well as Aggelos Tanis on the drumset. Right away they entered the rehearsal studio , and are currently preparing a new show to hit the Athens night soon! Stay tuned!
On May 26th, 2008, fractals' song "Past within the future" reached the number 8 , on GarageBand's progressive rock charts! Great success :)
