http://www.myyearbook.com/bonnieadcWhat is there to tell? I am 64 (16 April 1943), a widow, and proud mother of a beautiful daughter, Elizabeth (also known as Sunshine). I also had a daughter, Melodie, but I lost her years ago.I grew up in Big Rapids, MI, then on to Marysville, PA, and back to BR. I moved to Lansing, MI and there I met my husband James. We were married almost 27 years before his death to cancer in May 1989.Beth and I moved to Florida in September 1990 in order to go to college. We graduated the same day and celebrated with a trip back to MI to see friends and relatives. It was 78 degrees here and just 28 there and I came down with pneumonia. We could hardly wait to get back here to thaw out! I love Michigan's seasons, especially spring and summer but don't miss the snow, ice and cold. I miss going to Petoskey and spending the summer on the shores of Lake Michigan. Those were some of our best times.Since returning to FL we've had a series of adventures (and a few misadventures!) and carved out a life for ourselves. We got jobs working in our chosen field - travel and tourism.I have since retired - from work, not life! I have always had a love of learning so continued my studies. I now have my PHD and have the inner glow of satisfaction for having done something I have always wanted to do. My field of study was philosophy. Oh, do stop groaning, I happen to like it. Haven't you ever played the game 'what if'? It's a bit like that but just more complicated.I have been researching my geneaology for years and have discovered that both sides of my family have been here in the US since the early 1600s, coming here from the British Isles. That was a real eye-opener since, as a child, I had a very different impression judging by family comments. I have managed to run one line back to the 800s and hope to continue as well with the rest. I have also been participating in the National Geographic Genograhic Project. The results have been nothing short of astonishing to me. If anyone is interested in this project, I urge them to contact National Geographic. It is a really worthwhile project and they have exploded some very old myths and created new and startling lines of just who came from where. It is an exciting field. There have been some amazing finds made in the last several years, progressing our knowledge by leaps and bounds.I love to read and my bookcases (5 six-footers) are filled to overflowing and it seems books peek out at me from nearly everywhere. I am an avid tv watcher but usually confine my viewing (outside of news) to programming on History, History Int'l, Discovery, etc. I thoroughly enjoy learning about the latest discoveries, especially in the achaeological areas.
