The Horn Stars

The HornStars are a three piece freelance horn section. We have been playing together for 10 years working on various projects covering a wide range of musical genres. Because of the long term working relationship we have developed an intuitive sense of phrasing and well balanced powerful sound. We all compose, arrange and are dedicated instrumentalists. Our collective work credits include; The Streets, Mica, Bryn Christopher, Dr John, Sandi Thom, Kate Nash, Daniel Bedingfield, The Pippettes, ITV Tv, The Go Team!, Young Punx, Scissor Sisters, Enya, Chicane & Tom Jones, Ola Onabule, Barefoot, Down to the Bone, Michael Bolton, Monty Norman, WOMAD, Glastonbury, Isle of White, Oxegen, V Festival, Electric Picnic, Cork Jazz and Marlborough Jazz festivals. Recent recordings include The Heart Strings debut album 'Try Fly Blue Sky', Dub Colossus' new album 'A Town Called Addis', The self titled album from 'Earl thomas with Paddy Milner and the Big Sounds' and the soon to be released album 'Routes to Riches' by Mamas Gun.Below are some of our favourite artists that we have been lucky enough to record and play with. We also have a studio business for recording live horns, strings and drums . We use high-end mics and preamps to record into Logic Pro in our own studio space.
