About Me
The darkest Cure mixed with the most romantic Depeche Mode, this could be a good start to describe the ethereal tunes of Leave in Silence, a dark-wave Italian band. These songs tell stories of departing, sad goodbyes, sudden, silent farewells. You wake up at the sound of pouring rain, and you realize that a part of you is gone: mist and rain is all you see; a sweet pain in the depths of your heart is all you feel... This music is fascinating and dreamy, with a very sophisticated use of synths and keyboards, and vocals that make you forget about the world outside your door. The beauty of sadness will surround you with all its delicacy. Discography

Short history
Leave In Silence started in Spring 1994 when Alessandro (voice, synths and programming) and Davide (guitars, bass and keyboards) both joined together after coming from previous musical experiences. Alessandro played in "Old Fashion" and "Stinky Toys" and Davide released a demotape under the name of "Macbeth's Head".
They spent some time playing concerts based on 80's new wave and pop covers and demoing/writing some atrocious and some good early songs. In autumn 1996 two songs (You Ran Away From Me and Dream) were included in the CD compilation compilation "Blue Velvet", including some of the best bands of the new italian gothic/wave scene, like "Ataraxia", "Kirlian Camera" and "Andromeda Complex" and produced by the italian fanzine "Neogothic". And that was the start of it all. Some more compilation appearance followed ("Culture Sintetiche" tape, a product especially for electrowave's lovers, 1996) and in spring 1997 the first self produced album,"Lovesick", came to the light. Originally available on tape only, included songs which expressed with different musical styles the uneasiness of "leaving in silence"; gloomy, romantic and melancholic atmospheres, loneliness and despair, lost loves, a long and solitary road to the deepest feelings, sad images in black and white painted with the diverse musical influences of Alessandro (Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, Soft Cell..) and Davide (The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Joy Division, And Also The Trees..). In 1997 Fabio joined the band on bass during the live performances. In early 1998 they recorded some more new songs and more concerts around Italy followed along with some more compilation appearances: the song "Heaven of Sins" was included in "Voices in the Dark vol.2", produced by Synthphony Records (USA), featuring songs by historical 80's bands like "The Twins" and "Alphaville" and by new bands from the American and european electro-wave scene; "Unease" was featured in "Intimations of Immortality vol.4", released by italian gothic-wave label Energeia. More Italian concerts followed, an a remarkable highlight was one night in spring 1999 at Firenze's Auditorium Flog where about 1000 people attended to their live performance.A new CD version with three additional songs of "Lovesick" was released.Since then almost a decade passed by and ordinary life commitments took over and musical production slowed undeterminably down to a dead point. A new struggling concept album with the working title of "Soul and Sorrow" has been demoed but never came to the light. In 2006 they covered "Ice Machine" to be included in "Devotion",an italian tribute CD to Depeche Mode.
They like to think this new year (2010) will be the new beginning. Stay tuned...
