About Me

cute myspace layout

I may be 39, but no one ever believes it - especially me. :) I'm an adventurous, fun-loving spirit, yet grounded, introspective, and genuine. I have a great group of friends (most of which still haven't gotten around to joining Myspace, believe it or not), but I'm always willing to add to it. I like to surround myself with quality, positive people. I'm always up for new adventures. My latest quest WAS learning to surf and snowboard...

But now I have a MUCH bigger project going on. About a year and a half ago, I had a BABY!!! :D Her name is Jocelyn Emma. She's absolutely beautiful!!! The single mom thing does make it difficult to adventure as much as I used to (for now), but this is still absolutely the single best thing I've ever done! :D

My Interests

Anything athletic - preferably outdoors, adventuring, dancing, watching and playing football, learning to surf and snowboard, meeting intriguing people, finding GOOD stuff (and I don't mean shopping).

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people who have something to say, people who are up for joining me on my adventures or inviting me to join them on theirs.

This used to also say 'cute boys', but my tastes have changed. While cute boys are lots of fun, I've come to realize that what I really want is a MAN. Someone who won't run away screaming when he finds out I have a daughter. Someone who is solid enough to get through the tough times as well as thoroughly revel in the happy times. Of course it still needs to be someone who can keep up with me... :D

Music:

Anything that feeds my soul or makes me move. Morphine, Cranberries, Crowded House, Cowboy Junkies, Tori Amos, Tragically Hip, No Doubt, Save Ferris, Incubus, James, Smiths, Cake, Bob Marley, Count Basie, obscure backroom blues bands

Movies:

The Princess Bride, Any Given Sunday, Get Shorty, Heathers, The Last of the Mohicans, Gross Point Blank, Matrix trilogy, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Kevin Smith flicks (Clerks, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy, etc.), Hitch, Crash.

Comedies (especially those with twisted plots and/or cerebral, quick-witted dialogue) and Action/Adventure are my favorites. What can I say? I think too much the majority of the time. When I watch movies, I just want to be entertained.

Television:

24, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Gilmore Girls, Lost, Prison Break, Heroes.

I'm watching a lot more TV these days. It's tough to get out of the house to partake in all my normal fun activities. *pout* Now accepting offers for babysitting... ;)

Books:

Currently on nightstand: 'The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success'. Also a myriad of parenting books. Must study up if I want to be a good mommy. Can you believe it? I'm a mommy!!! :D

My Blog

Someday is almost here!!!

OK, so this may not be the most appropriate place to announce my latest news, but I havent run into several of my MySpace friends on my travels lately or had the opportunity to contact them dire...

A REAL Christmas Miracle!

OK, so I'm not the most religious person in the world... But guess who witnessed a Christmas miracle? :D I arrived in Buffalo last week, fully expecting (and dreading) to be forced to make a de...

Care for a joke?

OK, so this is one of those jokes that life plays on you. It seems to be much more funny for others to hear about than for me experiencing it, so it begs to be shared... First a little history... ...

Moved this from profile to here. I figure it's just too long for an intro. ----------- My whole life, I have strived to make sure no one could place me in any of their nice, neat categories for p...

Three things

Rather than post this on the bulletin board, I figured I'd put it in my journal. It's kinda a personal thing, so I think this is where it belongs. I found that filling it out was kinda therapeutic...

Not to brag...

But last night after the bouncer at a bar I was entering performed a very animated version of the typical double-take upon scanning my ID, he said, "Wow! I'm impressed! I thought you were 18!!!" He...
