About Me

Anxiety Boigraphy
The word Anxiety can mean the state of uneasiness or tension caused byapprehension of possible future misfortune, but, it can also mean anintense desire or eagerness, and from this is where the band gets itsname. When listening to a piece of Anxietys music, an intense desireand passion can be taken from it and clearly go into the making ofit.
The songs are the work of front man Pete Keen, who writesthe songs within the comfort of his own home, in complete peace andsilence. Obviously, the other band members do add their input to thesongs when the band comes together to play. The melodic section ofAnxiety is performed by Pete Keen; preferring instruments such as theguitar, piano, and also acting as lead vocalist. The Bass end of themusic is taken by James Williams, who joined the band most recently andthe Drumming is the work of Simon Coe. It was Simon Coe and Pete Keenwho first formed the band back in early 2003. Since then various othermusicians have been involved but the band finally found its place whenbass player James Williams joined in late 2004. The band has, sincethen, written a whole new albums worth of songs titled Social SecretsOf A Shrinking Universe, on top of the pre-James joining album A GoodKick In The Teeth For Modern Art. The band has also re-defined itssound since the days of the debut album, by bringing in the piano ithas added enormously to the melodic nature of the newer songs and thedominant sound of the band which was once guitar riffs has now becomemore balanced with a stronger rhythm section and more powerful melodiesby the singer. However, the older songs from the album A Good Kick InThe Teeth For Modern Art are not forgotten and can often be seenperformed by the band in their live shows, along with previews of theforthcoming album Social Secrets Of A Shrinking Universe. Songs tolook out for include: Decay, Papier Mache, Stay Awake in Bed, SteppingStones and Clubs.
"Taking influence from artists such as Nina Simone, The Libertines and Damien Rice the sound is much more vulnerable and acoustic than the previous performers giving the evening a climactic finish. The trio hypnotised the audience with their intense emotional blend of music, the lead singer Pete giving an inspiring performance."
