His most recent project is Nothing more, Nothing less the mixtape vol. 1. 15 tracks of hunger and intelligent wordplay. Self-promoting on mixtapes, over the internet, and record companies. With his all of the above style, confidence, attitude, and charisma highlighting his lyrics, he's bound to catch the attention of listeners. He gave himself the name Truf because he feels that is the perfect title to describe his music and whom he is as an individual and artist. He began rapping at the age 13, being influenced by his older brother. Later, formed a group called "Point Blank" consisting of 5 members, which were friends of the same neighborhood Truf lived in. As time progressed, the group gradually deteriorated till only 2 members remained. Then 1. Three group albums were created and sold giving them a local buzz. After everyone Branched off and began working on solo projects of their own, Truf did the samething as well. He released his first solo album in 2003 titled, "Shooting Starr", when Truf was known as Yung Starr. The follow up was "Nothing more, Nothing less" in 2004. Eventually losing hope, the aspiring rapper took a break in 2005. Feeling as if he had no chance to make in the game. In summer 2006, he made a return to hip hop as Truf Da future. He also has radio play on Hattiesburg's station 106.3 jamin or jokin and a few live performances under his belt. With a new look on the game and a head full of fresh ideas, he's striving to be where he belongs.
