I finally managed to put some Gettin' Headstones and N.D.O.F. music on the web for folks to get there hands on. For those that are just discovering this, I'll fill you in.NOT DEAD ONLY FROZEN Way back in the year 1995 in the bowels of MISSISSIPPI, two childhood friends finally learned how to play something other than Ramones songs and Formed "Not Dead". Along with a schoolmate they toured small cities in MS including Starkville, Meridian and other bumfuckt spots. Eventually they tricked another classmate into recording what they thought would be the closest thing to an album they'd ever get. Hey, It was! This band eventually morphed into another after the foundig members moved to Atlanta, Ga in 1998. This new incarnation was called...THE GETTIN HEADSTONES Settling into a Psychobilly sound and look, the "Headstones" became one of the first U.S. Psychobilly bands in operation within the Southeast region. There were numerous lineup changes during the three to four years of the "Headstones" existence. The Headstones broke up in October of 2001. There was a contract with SPINDRIFT records UK but was never officialized. /

Band Members: NOT DEAD ONLY FROZEN- Justin Manning, Gary Burney, and Micheal Rushing comprised the first lineup. Later joined by Josh (Snoball) Wade, Mike (Bassum) Usry, Bobby Andrews, and Bryant Faries. Dave Greenwood played sax on the ROUTE 1 sessions. Chris Wessman also joined up for about 2 weeks. The tracks you hear were recorded by Clark Beazley on a 4-track inside my parents house in about a day and at ROUTE 1 studios in Mcomb, Ms. We only paid for half the session! The tunes "WERECAR" and "ROCKNROLL TEENAGE VAMPIRE KILLERS" were recorded by JAY REATARD in a tin building with a cement floor way back in his early days with a shitty four-track. I believe that night at a party JAY got naked and mistakenly sprayed his nutsac with OVEN CLEANER thinkin it was spray paint. If he had'nt have been covered in 2 quarts of MOTOR OIL, his NUTSAC would probably have been permenantly damaged. Hell, Maybe it is!THE GETTIN HEADSTONES--Gary Burney, Justin Manning, Jeffrey(Lil' Jeff) Butzer, Richie(Mcfly) Hayes, Allen Suh(Sax), Nick Hood(drums on the tracks you hear), Adam(Biff), frooty Balooty(Sax).
