"What's to come is better than what's been." Arlene Brooks makes every effort to press toward the mark of success of the future with these words in mind. Born of loving parents who instilled the values of strength , faith, and love. Arlene grew up in Flint, Michigan.
She began to cultivate her gift as a psalmist with an emphasis on Gospel/Spritual music as a young girl. Arlene sang in choirs, musical groups, and performed as various functions affirming god's gift. As a young woman, Arlene continued as a soloist at a wide array of events, winning admiration and accolades of all her audiences. Arlene has sung background for gospel recording artist, Babbi Mason and Q. Coleman, and has opened for acclaimed jazz crusaders.
"Living in the F.O.G" was born out of a fervent prayer for direction in the strategic decisions Arlene made relating to her professional development. She has known that it was through the Favor Of God that she was blessed with the gift of song. Her testimony has been shared and her blessings revealed through,her ability to communicate the goodness of the God she serves to others.
Arlene continues to craft her alto/contralto voice as a praise team leader, choir director, and soloist with the Berean Christain Church Choir, where the Pastor is Dr. Kerwin B. Lee. She is an excellent lyricist, and is currently authoring lyrics for her upcoming CD, "Living in the F.O.G"(Favor Of God), the planned released for which is 2007.
