About Me
Dominator...a bold moniker to take on, even in the hip-hop world where proclaiming your ability is the norm. However, when you’ve dedicated as much of your life to music as he has and is still doing, then it’s easy to understand why he calls himself "Dominator." Equally adept at producing and emceeing, he has the world to offer musically. An emcee for ten years plus, he understands the art of walking the line between commercial accesssibilitiy and creative integrity. He is one-half of hip-hop duo University of Hardballers, along with fellow producer/emcee Jazzmarc. They have successfully completed and released three full-length albums and an EP independently. As a producer, Dominator sports a sound that can’t be put in a box. He can create beats based on samples or go totally original and sample free. Working with the MPC 4000 and a bevy of sound modules, he has amassed a ridiculously wealthy catalogue of beats that are waiting to change the face of not only hip-hop, but music period. Operating from his homebase of Cleveland, Ohio, fellow artists have recognized his talents as both emcee and producer, spawning collaborations and/or production work for the likes of Earthtone,350 (formerly of Scarface’s spinoff group Facemob), TG, Gansta Nutt, Beateffek, Mic Ruffin, and others. As an emcee, Dominator cites the Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z, Ice Cube and Scarface as his influences. On the production end, he credits Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, DJ Quik, The Bomb Squad and Jay Dee (J Dilla) as his inspirations, as well as fellow Syncronauts, Jazz Marc, Rough Draft, and PushButtonz. He hopes that down the line, he’ll be listed as someone’s influence and inspiration on both the emcee and producer’s list. Given his creative output and amazing versatility, it very well may happen.
