Bitter Flesh Thing was formed in the late '90s and since then has perfected their alluring and deviant sound. Their shows are sure to entertain and amaze anyone who is brave enough to endure them. One year after the band's creation, BFT won the Ernie Ball International Battle of the Bands competition for the Western NY region. As a result, they played the Vans Warped Tour sharing the stage with bands such as Kid Rock and The Reverend Horton Heat. The band was so enthralling that the crowd nearly started a riot. Since then they have played many music festivals and have been approached by numerous record labels.
"Equally as memorable as the music, however, was the jaw-dropping show put on by Bitter Flesh Thing."
-Wagnerian (NY, NY)
Consisting of Zazu Pitts (vocals), Apostoly (guitar), Leuth (bass), and Trahelio (drums), the band uses cutting edge technology to break the barriers of how music is perceived. Powerful sounds, chilling melodies, creative production, and original songwriting create a potent mixture that keeps people listening and wanting more. The band's sound has progressed from being raw to scary to melodic and is constantly developing and changing.
"...we did take notice when we heard that the group's last performance involved a frothing and disillusioned fan attacking frontman Zazu Pitts who, in turn, attempted to suffocate himself with a microphone cord."
-City (Rochester's Alternative Newsweekly)
The band is very devoted to their loyal fans, so much so that they have gone so far as to offer free sex to the first 500 people at one of their shows. Words like "shocking" and "astonishing" are used to describe the band..Most importantly, the music appeals to the masses! With their no compromise blend of precisely sequenced techno-esque keyboard tracks, catchy hooks, tight live musicians, and legally insane chaotic vocalist, they will quickly rise to the top.
