I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a very easy going New Zealand born male currently living in Ireland (For the last 4 years). I spent 14 years in London from the late 80s solely to see my favourite Music bands in Concert. It was long waits in NZ to see a good band, but I was going to about 4 great concerts A WEEK in the beginning. I am actually very single minded about music. I have to have it in the background everywher (In the car/while out walking) I get so much music in each week that it is hard to keep up. I am always updating My music lists on the computer that even includes grading/quality etc). I have met quite a few of my favourite musicians in the past (Steve Wilson/Walter Trout/Michael Katon/Gwyn Ashton/Wild T and the Spirit/Riverside etc), and it is always my aim to let them know that I exist. I used to have an Office lifestyle for a few years but when I got redundant 9 years ago, i went on to be a Postman for a few years and onto being a General Operative in a Car Mirror Electronics Company. I was made redundant last week, so I am hoping to drive a Truck delivering Elderly commodoties around the surrounding counties of Dublin. Interview on Wednesday. I have 2 older brothers. One lives in Australia with his family while the other is at home in New Zealand taking care of my Mother. My daughter is 14 years old and is heavily into Gothic Music (Evanescence and Within Temptation) She is just starting out on guitar, and I have ordered a great guitar Course for her. We will practice together. She is a great singer and writes great music (Years ahead of her age) although it does get quite morbid.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with an active interest in Music be it trading or sharing in the music we love. Put it this way, if you meet someone who loves the music of Porcupine Tree, that person will have an interest in bands such as Riverside/Pure Reason Revolution etc. Maybe I havent come across a local Blues Rock God or a "Prog super group in the making" that someone else picked up on. I LOVE obscure bands that send a shiver down my spine. I call it identity. Its called sharing, and with the Internet and music samples on the website, you have a quick decision to see if a band or musician that has been passed onto you are in your musical taste buds. As I am a New Zealander living in Ireland for the past 4 years, there are no people I have come across who enjoy the music I do, and as a Rugby fan, people only wear an All Blacks jersey because they are a great winning team , as can be said about the Brazilian football team. I have only met one other New Zealander since I have come to Ireland, and that was a 5 minute chat at a Car Boot Sale. Nationalities are irrevalent to me, though its always great meeting other New Zealanders to share the rugby news with.
