About Me

My grandpa was raised in Arkansas on bluegrass music. When we were old enough to pay attention to music, boy did we not enjoy those high harmonies and ear splitting banjos. But he persisted. He would sing us songs like "Good Ol Mountain Dew" and we would crack up. But now I have seen the light. I thank him often for exposing us to the music. Thanks also to Jerry Douglas for blowing my mind and inspiring my obsession for the dobro. Since then I've been wandering through a haze of Stanley harmonies, Jimmy Martin antics, Bill Monroe yodelling, and Chubby's fiddling.I was raised in the western swing capitol of Tulsa, Oklahoma and started playing music about age of ten (drums), then switched to heavy metal guitar, then to blues, then to hippy music, then to reggae, then to bluegrass and honky tonk.I am right now not involved in any working ensembles, so I am currently seeking to (a) start another band, or (b) join an established band. I am a restless soul, so I have been known to relocate myself to take opportunities to pick with different folks. So you know you need a dobro picker/singer to round out your 3 or 4 piece band, right??
