About Me

I am a word, food and music processor. I was born one hundred centuries ago with a full head of golden blonde hair and a stylish beard. The beard is no more.

I cook in restaurants. I prefer to eat simple Mediterranean food. Fish, vegetables, olive oil, bread and wine.

My writing infrequently appears in publications good, bad and ugly. I've done some commercial copywriting. I'm at work on some books.

I've spent a lot of the last two years living in and travelling throughout Croatia, and you can find some of what I've found there at Croatialogue.com and ExploringCroatia.com .

I make music and look forward to scoring a film or two this year. I am a classically trained vocalist, but I prefer to sing traditional ethnic folk and contemporary music. I've played bass, guitar and drums since the 80's and dabbled in piano again for the last few years. I primarily write, record and produce music alone as Cenozoik .

I publish a culinary blog at ArticlesOfMastication.com .

I publish a catch-all personal blog at JohnJGoddard.com .

I am developing a website dedicated to the cuisine of Croatia's Dalmatian coast at DalmatianCooking.com .

I'm enthusiastic about lifting impossibly heavy objects, loving impossible women, swimming in the sea and cooking on real fire. I speak English, Croatian and Russian. I'm learning some Italian and Spanish. If you want to buy me a drink, I'll have a liter of red wine. If you want to buy me dinner, I'll have roast lamb and grilled sardines.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I also dabble lightly in misanthropy.

Fisherman’s Night

My account of Ribarska Noc in Marina back in August. Decent music clip for those of you interested in music from the hills and other traditional ethnic sounds. http://www.johnjgoddard.com/2007/12/13/...
