I was born a army brat in landshtul Germany.mom was a M.P. and dad a dental surgeon,at one year old we moved to phoenix AZ. when i was 3 we moved to KS. to my fathers hometown Grenola.around 300 ppl. I had a great time growing up here with my 2 sisters susy and shari,and my brother Tony,raising chickens,rabbits,cats dogs,goats,ponys and horses, swimming on the big caney river,river running,fishing,climbing trees,hauling hay, riding horses,hiking through the hills,pulling weeds in the garden, all the country stuff,after being moved around to different schools around here,I went to central high school in burden KS.went through my long haired hippy years trying every thing i could in a redneck town.(I bought a 66 pontiac GTO a 389 w 2 barrel at 16 years old.(kick me i sold it for $500.00), had a dump truck full of wheat fall on me at 17 y.o. while in nebraska (i rolled it down a hill)and had to lay in gasoline for 25 min or so while my arm was trapt by the wheel well,and my ass by the step. my arm was paralized for over a month before i could move my fingers again and was chemicaly burnt from my knees to my nipples.(not fun) not a good way to lose some skin.but it woke up the musical part of me while playing piano and guitar for my therapy. my Grandpa Floyd Sweet(the best human and fisherman and gardener ever born) and grandma (had 4 sons,dawain,floyd(jew),john and jim all in the military) ran a small grocery store, and my family and mom, dad,my 2 sisters and my younger brother) helped run it,(no stores here now.) when my grandparents got to old to want to do it any more my dad took over, we also did custom proccesing, butchering beef, pigs, sheep, goats,and did deer during the season,this is the reason for the name thedeerskinner, I have skinned around 3000 deer, and also have skinned elk, bear, yak, rabbits,etc. etc. etc. 15+ years of it.I dont really like to hunt or fish that much but my dad makes up for it hes one of the best hunters and fisherman i have ever known(Dead eye shot)but i will hunt and fish if i am starving(ate a rattle snake that suprised me one day almost stepped on it, a 7 ft AZ diamondback, i was without meat for two weeks (and it was good with a little garlic and salt),i have also worked many other jobs in ks. and other states,mussel harvesting,construction,car detaiing, cook/dishwasher, oil field work, store clerk,hall monitor for boys and girls home,gas station attendent. welding,security guard,dietary aid at a rest home,custom cabinet building,also played in a rock band for 1 1/2 years.(model citizens) on and on and on.got to meet julia roberts and lauren hutton in a health food store(cids) in taos NM.I used to make good money digging echinacea($20.00 a lb dryed)and wondered why someone would pay that much so i studied wild edible plants and medicinal herbs and it really helps when you camp alot.I am divorced and get along with my ex pretty good, after my divorce while living in gunnison CO. i went camping for about 6 months in the mountains at lake irwin (mountain lions, porcipines,elk and wolves there)(great veiw every day) above crested butte at the bullion king silver mine helping pump water out of it.(10,600 ft up)fell in love with camping(I am the forest ghost) and did the same thing every year from april 22 till it got to cold to camp for the last 8 years camping and working in different states,TX,CO,NM,Ut.AZ. I met every kind of human being you can think of from Germans buddists,wiccans,hannamins,Tewa,Navaho,white mountain apache,wind river,gangstas,mormans,christians,hippies,(good times). so im not afraid to start over again any where in the world as long as i have my gear, peace and love 2 all of u.
