About Me
COMBINE: one beautiful young lady possessing excellent vocal talents with equal parts of upbeat grooves and touching ballads; add touches of Pop/R&B Hip-Hop flavor with funky beats, and an exquisite visual image –Yields: one awesome entertaining female singer/performer… Tai.Tai reached high levels of popularity in 2002 after radio station B96's Gerald Harrison programmed Tai's single "Simply Beautiful", which quickly moved to heavy rotation. B96 flew Tai to Louisville, Kentucky to perform "Simply Beautiful" and other songs from her demo, as the opening act for Case's concert. Tai received such a warm welcome that when she finished her set, the promoters asked if she could do a couple more songs which Tai was more than happy to oblige. When Tai arrived back to California, she was asked to perform the song on BET's "The Way We Do It" and was featured on 100.3 The Beat with Steve Harvey and was chosen to open up for Summer Jam out of more than 400 contestants. Tai also toured with Coolio and is featured on C-Murders' single "Thug Boy" from his new album. Tai's earlier demo was laced with the infectious sounds of multi-platinum producer Greg Lawson who is responsible for Jennifer Lopez' hit single "Love Don't Cost A Thing". Her current demo is fueled by platinum producer Jay Mitchell. His sound has been the driving force behind a lot of today's female artists such as Mariah Carey, Faith Evens, Brandy Norwood, Patty LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Fiona Apple, Shanice, Dianne Ross, Regina Bell, Phyllis Hyman, Jermaine Jackson, to name a few. The dedicated and focussed Tai writes, produces and arranges; her stage presence is a tribute to the power of defying expectations.
