About Me

Formed around the songwriting nucleus of Neil G. Henderson and Kirsa Wilkenschildt, SWEET DREAMS… Released by Flower Shop Recordings, contains 11 elegant and elegiac songs that make up the follow up to their acclaimed debut album Tales From The Forest, released in 2001. The album was produced by Robin Proper-Sheppard, former mainstay of The God Machine and now of Sophia, head honcho of The Flower Shop Recordings and currently signed to City Slang/The Flower Shop Recordings.SWEET DREAMS… is a an elaborate and yet more sedate affair than its predecessor Tales From The Fosrest. The band’s European influences remain intact – from Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel to more contemporary artists like Benjamin Biolay (a leading light of France’s current wave of ‘nouvelle chanson’) and model turned singer Carla Bruni. SWEET DREAMS… subtly shifts the tone from theatrical to cinematic, however, resulting in a more brooding, intense collection of songs. Coincidentally, COPENHAGEN’s second single, “Home”, is to be used in a new film, Blessed, starring Heather Graham, Andy Serkis and David Hemmings."Surreal, dark, melancholy show tunes. Genuine eccentrics in an age of conformity..." Uncut Magazine"Copenhagen are both unorthodox and unique. With songs as strong and as versatile as the ones displayed on this EP, it seems that Copenhagen are going to be the most exciting new musical acts of the year." Penny Black Music“The weather changes for Copenhagen's Raining Again, a nigh perfect slice of jazz-noir: single of this month (and many others).” Mojo
