the HEADBANGER MAGAZINE history: This zine was born from dark thought looking for an alternative of expressions of hidden feelings existing in my mind at 1986 years. Formed by Rafo Iturrino and Kike Patiño bottino, with colaboration from Johnny Rivera and Giovanni Viale old friends with a common destiny. The first issue was prepared with a big effort with good information by the time, included interviews to Casbah, Thanatos, Assassin and others. it was the beginning of the Metal Underground Magazine in Peru, issued in July 1987. at the same year issue 2 was available with Rafo Iturrino and Johnny Rivera as editors with a strong support from the biggest death / black metal in Latin America as it is Brazil with interviews to Desecration, Whiplash, Vulcano and others cult bands. This magazine of improved quality even when photocopied, was extreme underground. We was gained important support in this hard world of underground. we had several stories from important extreme bands as Genocidio, explicit hate, anschluss,mx,tyrranicide,necrofago,bestial war,terrorizer,were done, etc. Already for summer 1988, still in photocopy paper we saw the light through a jewel that was magazine 3 in Peru with more than 40 bands, interviews and many pictures and continuing with the same style and the support from Brazilian scene, this magazine was featured with interviews to Mayhem, Sabbat, dorsal Atlantica, Attomica and many more, with bandslike Blasphemer, Necromancia. But our only living issue is our web site, written in English. And at last from the shadows comes out issue 4 in the same year of 1988 with Rafo and Eliseo Franco as editors to this fanzine was out, with lots of information went through many brains here in Peru and I believe that Headbanger gained a space in the story of peruvian metal scene. This zine has had some reviews from Blasphemy, Mayhem (Bra), Hammerhead, Reencarnacion, Masacre (Col), Witchammer, Toxodeth and interviews to Taurus, Necrodeath, Imperator, Agathocles, carcass, Revenant, Anarchus, Necromancia.This issue, more professional than the last one, assured that the next one would be much better. But the zine did not come out again.until 2003 that reborns from the ashes to reclaim his place, the one that should have had never leave. Well, our expectation now is to rewrite the history, support us as you did before to continue with this eternal torment!Now, Rafo Iturrino and Rafo Rivera (ex editor of Aquelarre Zine) both are united to write this present issue 5 with a lot of Sadistic & Satanic interview & reviews. Also horrified lay - out. Keep in touch!!!After some lay out problems and technic differences We dislike about this issue as was worked, the issue 6 was out with better lay out work always printed on couche, very proffessional and it included some intervioews like DESASTER, ARALLU, THIRD MOON, CANNIBAL CORPSE, etc... With this issue We gained to the underground scene again and the respect of Our old public was alive again!!!later a brief time join to the magazine MANUEL ATENCIO BONATTO as co editor and So , we began to work of HEADBANGER issue 7 with better lay out , better interviews, tons of reviews and excellent posters included...with interesting interviews like IMPURITY,EVIL WAR, NAHUAL,INSANE DEVOTION,LORD, SATANAS, ETC...BLASPHEMY POSTER... with several critics about the best work which we had and the best effort we did it, the people response was ok...and all underground metal scene was completry glad to have in your hands this issue. then comes at january 2006 , another best work and together issue 7 the best work which we had...it's contain a greek tribute witrh interviews with VARATHRON,RAVENCULT,NAER MATARON, BLACK WINTER,UNHOLY ARCHANGEL, also it includes interview with AVERSE SEFIRA,MAUSOLEUM, GOATPENIS,HECATE, MORCROF, ETC. plus 2 MAYHEM and PACTUM poster as bonus and free cd-r. No we will preparing the upcoming release which will be out at 20 th november 2006 and We can affirm will be the best magazine over SOUTH AMERICAN scene... the lay out will be KILLER and coming soon ,inspired on the older format but always printed on couche... wait for the upcoming hell called HEADBANGER MAGAZINE. my name is RAFAEL ITURRINO UBIDIA and I'm doing the first Peruvian magazine called HEADBANGER since 1987 still active... it's more focused to the dark side of metal music, also I have some interest to all kind of metal bands that spread the true arts of this music...
