The System is a Hip-Hop video show dedicated to independent/underground artists. The show was created by Rick Garcia and Tahj Ali. Inspired by video shows such as Rap City (late 80's-mid 90's) and Yo MTV raps. Both Rick and Tahj decided to put their love and knowledge of the culture into one project. Hence the birth of "The System". The System will be providing viewers an intimate view of the independent/underground Hip-Hop scene. By using exclusive footage such as interviews and (rare) videos both Rick and Tahj plan to do just that. This show is not just dedicated to rappers but the culture as a whole.What seperates "The System" from any other video show out today is the content. There seems to be only a couple video shows and none that embrace the culture as a whole. The System pays hommage to all artist that paved the way and will introduce the new wave of artists setting sail. The independent/underground scene is a sleeping giant. Most importantly this show will represent the culture as a whole by using interviews with dj's, b-boys/girls, graffitti artists, as well as rappers. The goal with "The System" is to complete the first season. We will be using the public access network in several locations across the country (LA, TX, NY, GA, FLA, MA,). With plans for national syndication "The System" plans to help surface this sleeping giant and re-introduce the world to the true essence of the culture.
