At last the sophomore release from Ludger (pronounced: "LOU-JAY"); the treacherous and "difficult" second album... Ha! Not for Ludger! Yes he took his sweet time but music well made is worth the wait. The promise of the first album has been fulfilled - Ludger has Evolved. And the first single: Los Mosquitos is rocketing up the charts (currently number 2 at this writing) to prove it.
LE MOTEL DES ASTRONAUTES is wall to wall ear candy that dares the body to hold still. If you've misplaced your groove this album has 12 tracks, a dozen ways to help you find it. Each tune comes at you from a different angle to target any rhythm-resistant areas. The World Rock maestro from Montreal expands upon his now signature style of throwing genres in the super collider until they smash together and release a set of vibrations that are entirely new.
Ludger is nothing less than a world class musical chef. He tinkers around in the international kitchen of sound pulling random ingredients off the shelves... He heats some up, cools some down, coaxes out all the rich flavors and, voila!, creates a fresh, sexy global cuisine and EVERY SINGLE TRACK IS TASTY. Not a dud in the bunch folks, no lie! A rare feat for any artist and a satisfying feast for anyone who likes to dance, think, laugh, shout and watch rules and boundaries dissolve all at the same time. You want to try some Salsa with a little Scratch? Rap with a little Twang? R&B on the rocks, electrified Reggae with Hip Hop on the beach? It's all on the menu. Nothing to do but indulge. You'll want to share this with friends.
Collaborating on this album are leading Montreal talents such as guitarists David Laflèche and Jean-Luc Huet (Dj Champion, Alpha Rococo), keyboard player Francois Lafontaine (Karkwa), bassist Pier Bourque (The Sins) and drummer Luc Catellier (Plywood ¾, Jervais). Sébastien Blais Monpetit (Dj Champion) mixed the album.
Crank it way up and put the top down. Summer's here and Ludger's on! Mmm mmm GOOD!

Ouvert Au Boutte (Open Wide) the debut album from World Rock artist LUDGER, is a Third-Millennium Mash-up on
overdrive; Hip Hop with Trash Metal, Punk with Folk, Electronica with
Reggae and Rap... Ludger concocts a musical potion that Rocks and Rocks
hard, always deep in the Groove with a healthy helping of pure Funk on
the side and a kiss of Scratch. Canada's best kept secret is Montreal's
intensely hot Alt. Rock and Nu-Metal scene. Ludger is one of the most
brilliant talents to torch up the city's best venues. He sings
primarily in French but also includes Spanish and English in his
lyrics. "Corporate Music" says: "Americans won't listen to rock in
French!" We say that's a load of corporate B.S. Have a listen for
yourself and prove them wrong.
